We are looking for a volunteer to join the festival committee in the role of Secretary. Geelong Pride Film Festival is a non-profit volunteer run incorporated association and we are looking to fill a key vacancy on our festival committee.This unpaid role requires someone with administration experience who is interested in contributing to the delivery of an inclusive community film festival and a series of one-off film screenings throughout the year.Duties include:
- participating in committee meetings;
- coordinating meeting agendas;
- taking meeting minutes and recording actions and decisions (completed during the meeting using a simple online system (TidyHQ);
- drafting occasional correspondence;
- maintaining incorporated association records;
- lodging the incorporated association annual statement online with Consumer Affairs Victoria; and
- contributing to the development and coordination of the Geelong Pride Film Festival as an active committee member.We are looking for someone who can commit to a schedule regular meetings (90-120 mins each) throughout the year.Meetings are held monthly from April to December and fortnightly from January to March. Meetings are generally held in central Geelong on a Wednesday evening.If you are interested in joining our friendly and dedicated team of volunteers on the coordinating committee write to us at geelongpridefilm@gmail.com outlining your interest in the role and relevant experience.

The MIFF travelling showcase is coming to The Pivotonian Cinema. There are some great films to check out including No Time for Quiet.  11am Sun 1 Sept This Doco follows a group of girls, trans and gender non-conforming youths as they discover the empowering strength of music through a GIRLS ROCK! camp. Thorne Harbour Health is looking for LGBTIQ women to be part of a focus group in Geelong. https://bit.ly/2Zb353D This will be a safe environment where participants are asked 6-8 questions about a health campaign and everyone will have an opportunity to contribute their perspectives. The event will be held Thursday August 8, 6pm – 7.30pm. Food and drinks will be provided as well as a gift card.

Call for submissions closes Sunday 14 July 2019With the support of the City of Greater Geelong, Geelong Pride Film Festival is offering a $500 commission for an Australian LGBTIQA+ themed short film screenplay that showcases a regional setting or symbol.What are we looking for?
We especially encourage scripts that portray the diversity of the LGBTIQA+ community. All submissions should:
- Be 3 -10 minutes in length
- Explore LGBTIQA+ characters/themes and
- Significantly incorporate or reference a regional Australian setting or an iconic regional Australian symbol.Who can apply?
