OUTDOOR MOVIE NIGHT: RUBBER JELLYFISH 🎥✨🎈
Presented by SWELL Sculpture Festival and Gold Coast Film Festival
For the first time, SWELL Sculpture Festival has partnered with the Gold Coast Film Festival to present a free outdoor screening of local environmental documentary, Rubber Jellyfish – the Movie.
We all know that throwing rubbish on the ground is littering, so why is letting a balloon float away seen as something different? RUBBER JELLYFISH is a feature-length documentary that explores the effects of helium balloons on the environment, wildlife and human beings. Mum-to-be and Gold Coaster Carly Wilson sets out on a personal journey to meet key players on all sides in the fight to ban balloons, and exposes the confronting truth behind our favourite party product.
Following the screening, join us for a Q&A with the filmmaker Carly Wilson. 🎬

`Annette (Reese Witherspoon) unwittingly becomes a pawn in Sebastian’s (Ryan Phillippe) and Kathryn’s (Sarah Michelle Gellar) deliciously diabolical wager of sexual conquest when she writes an article in Seventeen Magazine about how she intends to stay pure until she marries her boyfriend. However, Sebastian gets more than he bargained for as he attempts to woo Annette into his bed.’
Ever been at the movies and thought ‘you know what would make this better? A refreshing ale.’ No way — us too!
Simply rock up, grab a world class craft beer beverage, choose your style of seating and settle in for uninterrupted filmic goodness. ⠀
Burleigh Taphouse has an array of furniture available on a first come first served basis, however please ensure you bring your favourite blanket for the colder months. In addition to world class craft beer, we’ll also be offering wine and beverages of the non-alcoholic variety, Burleigh Eats by Oak Cafe and popcorn of course!
Pssst…Burleigh Cinema is an 18+ affair, so leave the littles at home, and date night like a couple of independently wealthy teenagers. Oh, and if it’s rainy or chilly, we can take the party indoors to our Burleigh Indoor Cinema in the Brewery.
