This week’s Festival Film Flashback to stream comes from 2015. As the Troubles hit 1970s Belfast, young rebel and music lover Terri Hooley opens a record shop in the most bombed half-mile of Europe. He gathers a motley crew to bring his city back to life - whatever else is happening. Based on a true story, Good Vibrations is a great flick with heart, soul and very, very good sounds. Perfect to round up a rainy weekend.

The Camino Voyage is up there with the most loved of all Irish films we’ve screened. From Irish Film Festival 2019, it has a 100% Rotten Tomatoes score, and features Danny Sheehy and Glen Hansard among others. A crew including a writer, two musicians, an artist and a stonemason embark on the Camino by sea, in a curragh they built themselves. They chart an inspiring and dangerous 2,500km Celtic odyssey from Ireland to Northern Spain. English and as Gaeilge.

As we closely watch the tentative reopening of cinemas in NSW, most of us are still home for the sofa screenings. This week’s #IrishFilmAtHome is humorous romp, The Young Offenders. If you’re from Cork, know someone from Cork or just want to wrap your ears around a serious accent; settle in and watch the film that inspired the ABC iView series. From IrishFilmFestival 2017.
