𝙉𝙜𝙖𝙞𝙧𝙚 𝙁𝙪𝙖𝙩𝙖 -(@miss.rotuma) is a proudly Rotuman-Kiwi creative who has had a wide-ranging career, from presenter, producer and chart-topping singer, 🌺⁣

The Whakatane local started her screen career at TVNZ in the late 1980s, as a secretary in the Māori and Pacific Programmes department. While working there, her cover of 'To Sir with Love' hit number one. ⁣
⁣
In the early 90s Fuata began presenting for Tagata Pasifika, and later produced it. She was one of the founders of SunPix, which took over production of Tagata Pasifika in 2015. 🌺🌴⁣

Fuata returned in front of the camera for 2011 autobiographical documentary Salat se Rotuma - Passage to Rotuma & also worked as a producer for shorts 'Liliu' & 'Ma'⁣

Ngaire has assisted in creating a neccesary spine for Pasifika visibility through her work throughout the years, and her Ocean wisdom this Monday is a fresh reminder. 🌴🌊⁣

𝙏𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙥𝙖 𝙆𝙖𝙝𝙞 - ⁣Christchurch-raised Tearepa Kahi began acting and playing saxophone as a teen, then spent two years in a theatre troupe run by Jim Moriarty. ⁣✨🔥
⁣
He went on to study history and Māori at Auckland University, and act — including a role in landmark te reo film The Māori Merchant of Venice (2002).⁣
⁣
Since then he has directed documentaries, award-winning shorts, and movie Mt Zion, starring Stan Walker — the most successful local cinema release of 2012. Kahi followed it with two feature-length music documentaries: acclaimed, Moa-nominated hit Poi E: The Story of Our Song, and 2019's Herbs - Songs of Freedom.⁣🌴🌊

This film is the first of it’s kind and welcomes viewers to explore the life and customs of the village, the mesmerising women’s water music and the energetic sounds of String band Matto. You will be humbled by their friendly and gentle nature, inspired by their simple lifestyles and captivated by their performances.🌴🎥⁣

His recent offering @hawaiiansoulmovie (a film on legendary Hawai'ian musician & activist George Jarrett Helm Jnr) & his many years of service to 'OiwiTv speak to his desire to raise the volume for Kanaka Maoli on screen. 🌊🌴⁣

Albert Toro - Director and Actor 🇵🇬⁣

The late Albert Toro is best known for his acting and directing credits including ‘𝗧𝘂𝗸𝗮𝗻𝗮: 𝗛𝘂𝘀𝗮𝘁 𝗶 𝗔𝘀𝘂𝗮?’, ‘𝗪𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗜𝗻 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁’, ‘𝗦𝘂𝗴𝗮𝗿 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘆𝘀,’ and ‘𝗔 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝗙𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿’.⁣

Previously serving as a local Politician, Albert  saw the absence of Papua New Guinean films and advocated for films that served the people of Papua New Guinea for generations to come:⁣
